The challenge

The major challenge for the outlying regions is not only to attract immigrants, but to retain them. The host society also needs to be willing to help them integrate.

The outcome

Immigrants in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region have a relatively easy time integrating into the community and find better jobs, with the result that they tend to stay in the region and contribute to its development.
